What the Role Entails

Under the guidance of a Senior TA, you will create high‑quality characters, scenes, special effects, post‑production and other material effects for 3A games; evaluate art effects, assets and optimize performance; test, evaluate and summarize the art production process and effects; create art assets independently or use existing assets to improve art effects in the engine; work with artists to resolve engine and tool problems and assist in locating issues;

develop simple in‑engine / DCC art tools using scripts.

Responsibilities
  • Make high‑quality characters, scenes, special effects, post‑production and other material effects for 3A games.
  • Evaluate art effects and assets, and optimize performance under the guidance of the Senior TA.
  • Test, evaluate and summarize the art production process and effects.
  • Create art assets independently or use existing assets to improve art effects in the engine.
  • Work with artists to solve engine and tool problems, and assist in locating issues.
  • Develop simple in‑engine / DCC art tools using scripts.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or above in art and design, digital media, game design, animation or other related majors preferred.
  • Strong passion for researching new features of art tools and game engines.
  • Solid art design skills, excellent aesthetics and a strong sense of art quality and efficiency.
  • Proficiency in at least one art tool, such as 3D Max, Maya, Blender or Substance Painter, and other mainstream 3D production software.
  • Proficiency in at least one art skill such as painting, modeling, scene composition, lighting, rendering, binding or special effects.
  • Good understanding and use of a shader language (GLSL, HLSL or Cg).
  • Knowledge of C++, C# or Python, or at least one development language.
  • Experience using Unreal Engine with at least two or more modules for scenes, characters, animations, and effects.
  • Strong problem‑solving, communication and teamwork skills, with a positive and responsible working attitude.
