CDL Class A Flatbed Driver

Position Description

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Texas offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about.

• Weekly pay: $1,365 - $1,700 or more
• Hourly rate: $23.62 per hour
• Per diem: $28.06 per night
• Hotel provided
• Travel reimbursement: $0.70 per mile (excluding first 50 miles each way)
• Safety bonus: $300 each quarter (up to $2,400 annually)
• Paid training
• PTO: 80 hours your first year, starting day‑1 (use it or get paid for it)

• Work:
  Monday – Friday Travel on Sundays
• Start time: 5:00–6:00 a.m.
• Delivery:
  Solo to TX, occasionally to OKC, LA, AR
• Route:
  Home weekends
• Tractor type:
  Day cab, requires manual transmission
• Trailer type:
  Flatbed
• 12 months flatbed experience required
• Truck‑mounted forklift experience highly preferred
• Load securement – strapping

• 24/7 roadside maintenance; company fuel stations at over 800 facilities nationwide
• Drivers are the captain – you make safety decisions, and your job is protected
• Ryder will purchase your truck and support you if you become a company driver

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder drug test, background check, DOT physical, and road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Class A verifiable experience (tractor trailer or comparable vehicle): 9 months in the past 3 years, OR 2 years in the last 5 years, OR 5 years in the last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and agency rules
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards; maintain accurate records and logs
• Load/unload freight or assist as required by customer
• Perform other duties as assigned
