Job Overview:

Al-Qadsiah Club is seeking a highly experienced Accounting Operations Manager to join our Finance team in Al Khobar. In this role, you will lead the accounting team to manage day-to-day accounting activities focusing on areas such as transaction processing, monthly close, account reconciliations, and compliance-related tasks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage daily operational accounting activities for various departments and General Ledger team activities, coordinating with the Accounting Operations team to meet strict deadlines across the period end close cycles.
  • Oversee and support accounting teams in monthly close activities, reconciliations, and compliance-related accounting tasks.
  • Oversee accounting for specific functional areas such as intercompany, fixed assets, accounts payable, accounts receivable, player accounting and ensuring adherence to policy and control requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency, recommend process enhancements, and support implementation of best practices in accounting operations.
  • Work with technical accounting team on any complex accounting memos as needed.
  • Provide clear, well-documented accounting guidance to team members and respond to complex technical questions with accuracy.
  • Collaborate closely with the financial reporting team during period end close process.
  • Provide oversight to accounting staff and ensure accurate and timely completion of journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting on a monthly basis.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, corporate policies, and relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS as endorsed by SOCPA).
  • Collaborate with internal and external audit teams to support audit readiness and resolve audit findings (if any).
  • Assist in the implementation of policies, programs, and initiatives that improve accounting quality and efficiency.
  • Manage journal entry approvals, balance sheet reconciliation approvals as required, tax and transfer pricing entries, analytical reviews and adherence to the accounting policies adopted by the Company and the IFRS requirements.
  • Lead and contribute to finance department's involvement in projects such as system implementation, upgrades or accounting policy changes.
  • Monitor emerging risks — such as new and revised accounting standards, changes in accounting policies, compliance with laws and regulations or system updates — and develop mitigation plans.
  • Take ownership of specific tasks during close or audit cycles to help maintain momentum and support accounting and reporting team.
Requirements

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and professional qualification is required (SOCPA, CPA, CIMA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent).
  • 6–8 years of experience (experience in football/sports finance preferred).

  • Thorough understanding of IFRS and internal controls.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong ERP knowledge.
