Primary Duties

The Project Coordinator, Gas & Electric reports to the Manager, Hydro Engineering and works within the Energy Services group. The incumbent administers and develops a diverse range of asset management activities associated with support services to the electric, and natural gas utilities, and metering services managed, operated, and maintained by Utilities Kingston. The incumbent is responsible for the preparation, coordination and management of formal asset management plans, long term planning, innovation, new technology planning and implementation for the support services including quality control, procurement, and commissioning.

They ensure that activities are aligned with corporate policies, applicable standards, and regulations. The project coordinator gathers, evaluates and organizes asset and work management related data and information to enhance decision making and create efficiencies.

Major Responsibilities
  • Develop, create, and maintain an updated asset registry with accurate data records, asset ratings, level of service and valid replacement costs of all asset categories and individual assets.
  • Undertake and incorporate results from field condition assessments and operational inputs with respect to the health of the assets.
  • Undertake life cycle costing and risk assessments for assets.
  • Prepare long term asset prioritization plans by incorporating short, medium, and long-term life cycle costing into capital and financial planning documents.
  • Develop and maintain reports such as asset integrity reviews, asset performance reviews, conduct research, analyze root cause of asset failure data and or repair activity and recommend solutions, undertake cost/benefit reviews and risk management assessments.
  • Develop and maintain business processes to ensure the timely receipt of information and data necessary to maintain the asset management system.
  • Develop asset management strategies and systems, consolidate data and information from service areas into Asset Management plans.
  • Review asset data information for quality assurance and identify improvement areas, develop, and implement processes for data integrity. Work closely with stakeholders to develop standardized asset data processes.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with other staff to ensure that the asset management plans, projects and programs maintain corporate wide consistency.
  • Maintain advanced understanding of asset management best practices, undertake research, and remain current on leading industry trends, developments, and innovations, related to future asset requirements.
