Through ongoing training, a generous education policy, and our Product Pros Program, we set our teams up for success knowing they are the foundation our success relies on. Joining us now is a chance to be a critical part in the next phase of our growth and the confidence to know we will take you on that journey with us.

Who we need

Reporting to the President, we need a Human Resources Manager to lead and guide our Human Resources team, function, and best practices. You will be responsible for recommending, creating, and administering HR programs aligned with our values, strategic business priorities, mission, and departmental mandates.

Who you are

You are an HR Expert with experience in wholesale, distribution, or a retail franchising company looking to take the next step in your career. You want to apply your knowledge of people, conflict, and change management to lead a small team. You have extensive experience across all aspects of HR with a particular focus and interest in managing our talent acquisition, leadership and career development programs, overseeing company health and safety, and managing our rewards program.

What's in it for you

You will build out HR processes and programs that support this accelerated scaling, overseeing the employee recruitment cycle from end-to-end. You will have access to an experienced HR thought leader in mentoring you, helping you in multiple complex areas of the role, and coaching your people leadership skills. As we expand our presence and employee numbers, there will be intuitive opportunities for ownership and growth.

What you will do:

Plan, develop and implement effective strategies for HR management. You will create and align HR strategies to the company vision and core values.

Ensure the right talent is brought into - and retained by - the organization. You will identify skills gaps in our workforce and address them through recruitment and training within the organization. You will ensure company total compensation offerings and initiatives support and promote the culture of Marks Supply.

Lead and promote a company-wide Health and Safety Program. You will ensure all safety standards are met and exceeded as outlined in the Company Safety Manual.

Support the organization's success. You will identify and implement efficiencies to improve HR and the business overall. You will implement and coordinate HR metrics and reporting information gathering and analysis to determine our most critical areas in need of development.

Training and development. You will analyze our training needs and design employee development, health and safety, orientation, and leadership development programs. You will lead the Company's cultural "Lumina" program company-wide. You will stay up to date on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.

Compensation and benefits. You will lead the annual salary review process and manage the annual bonus program. You will oversee quarterly and annual commission calculations and the annual sales and commission agreements. You will manage the employee group benefits plan. You will analyze and modify compensation and benefits policies to establish competitive programs and ensure compliance with legal requirements.

HR policies, procedures, legal defense. You will ensure HR legal compliance, maintain and communicate company policies, and advise senior management on company policy matters and recommend changes. You will investigate and report on critical matters such as industrial accidents or employee relations issues. You understand legislation, arbitration decisions, and contracts.

End-to-end recruitment. You will work with leaders to identify and solve staffing challenges, ensuring new effective processes are implemented and result in increased talent acquisition. You will manage the talent acquisition process in partnership with hiring managers, from posting roles and interviewing to making offers and onboarding. You will manage and coordinate the internship development program.

Employee relations. You will provide coaching and support to managers and staff by handling questions, interpreting and administering policies, and helping to resolve work-related problems, difficult staffing situations, disciplinary issues, and employee concerns and investigations.

HR administration. You will oversee the work of your team, coaching and supporting two direct reports. You will create and maintain a departmental budget, maintain records, manage files, and develop recommendations for improvements. You will administer safety programs in line with current legislation. You will compile and analyze statistical reports relating to staff data, including new hires, transfers, terminations, open positions, absenteeism rates.
