Knoxville, TN | Application Analyst | Full-time
The Application Analyst plays a key role in supporting, maintaining, and optimizing the software applications. Operating under general supervision, this role acts as a bridge between end users, vendors, and internal IT teams to ensure applications run reliably, securely, and in alignment with business and clinical needs.
The ideal candidate is a detail‑focused problem solver with strong analytical skills and experience supporting applications in a client/server environment. This individual will troubleshoot complex issues, lead testing activities, streamline workflows, and help users maximize the value of critical systems.
Responsibilities- User & Vendor Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact between end users, application vendors, and internal IT teams to address questions, gather requirements, and coordinate support.
- Application Reliability: Ensure assigned applications remain stable, secure, and fully functional, meeting organizational standards and performance expectations.
- Issue Resolution: Diagnose application issues, determine root causes, and work with technical teams to implement effective solutions.
- Testing & Validation: Conduct software testing, develop test plans and scripts, and verify adherence to vendor documentation and internal requirements.
- Workflow Optimization: Evaluate current workflows and system usage; recommend and implement improvements to enhance quality, efficiency, and user experience.
- Training & Knowledge Sharing: Provide training and guidance to end users and IT staff, ensuring they understand system capabilities, limitations, and reporting features.
- Security & Compliance: Partner with users to understand their security needs, implement appropriate controls, and reinforce adherence to required processes.
- Operational Support: Oversee day‑to‑day operation of assigned applications, including interface processing, special cycles such as year‑end events, and coordination with operations scheduling.
- Standards & Procedures: Recommend and uphold policies, procedures, and best practices for routine service and application operations.
- Additional Duties: Support project work and other responsibilities as assigned.
- Education: Associate degree in a computer‑related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 5 years in Information Systems or a relevant functional area.
- Practical understanding of technical operations in a client/server environment.
