The Y‑12 National Security Complex is a premier manufacturing facility dedicated to making our nation and the world a safer place and plays a vital role in the Department of Energy’s Nuclear Security Enterprise. Y‑12 helps ensure a safe and effective U.S. nuclear weapons deterrent. Y‑12 has evolved to become the complex the nation looks to for support in protecting America's future, developing innovative solutions in manufacturing technologies, prototyping, safeguards and security, technical computing and environmental stewardship.
A Q clearance is required; however, an active DOD Top Secret that can become a Q through reciprocity is acceptable. Therefore, a Secret or L, will not work.
This is a full-time position that requires on-site work in Oak Ridge, TN.

- Implements and maintains security controls aligned with approved baselines and organizational requirements.
- Supports system authorization activities, including the development and maintenance of security documentation such as System Security Plans (SSPs) and Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms).
- Monitors system security posture and identifies risks, vulnerabilities, and compliance gaps.
- Tracks and manages POA&Ms and coordinates remediation activities with system stakeholders.
- Assesses the security impact of system changes and supports configuration and change management processes.
- Supports continuous monitoring activities, including vulnerability management and security reporting.
- Serves as a security liaison between system teams, cybersecurity operations, and governance bodies.
- Prepares systems for security assessments, audits, and Authorizing Official reviews.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field and 2 to 5 years of related experience or associate’s degree in a technical field and 5 to 10 years of related experience.
- Firm understanding of NIST SP 800-37 and NIST SP 800-53
- This position requires an active Department of Energy "Q". A “Top Secret (TS)” Department of Defense clearance will also suffice. This requires US Citizenship.
- PhD in a technical field and 2 to 5 years of related experience, or Master’s degree in a technical field and 5 to 10 years of related experience, or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field and 10 to 15 years of related experience, or Associates degree in a technical field and 15 to 20 years of related experience.
