Nurse, LPN, Shift Supervisor, Night Shift (Lacey)

Are you interested in joining a team of veteran caregivers who have been making a difference in the lives of people in Lacey for more than 40 years? Memory Care at The Lodges is seeking to add an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to take on the role of Shift Supervisor in one of our Memory care buildings. The Shift Supervisor is responsible for managing the operations and care of all residents in his/her community during a standard 8-hour shift.

Accountability: The Shift Supervisor reports to House Supervisor and The Lodge’s Administrator.

Qualifications: Licensed Nurse in the State of Washington and at least 6-months of experience in a skilled-nursing facility, memory care, or medical/surgical unit. Leadership role in a community focused on memory care preferred. Licensed RN’s will also be considered for this position.

Salary/Compensation: Compensation rates dependent on qualifications and experience of applicant. To be negotiated during interview process.

Location: Lacey, WA

LPN Job Skills:

Knowledge and application of medication administration techniques.
Knowledge of drug effects and interactions.
Familiarity with State regulations.
Able to supervise and coordinate staff.
Accurate patient assessment and charting.
Knowledge of facility nursing policies and procedures.
High clinical competence.
Can communicate effectively with others, as well as function independently.
Ability to supervise, teach and evaluate staff work performance.
Follows universal/standard precautions.

LPN Duties and Responsibilities:

The Shift Supervisor administers treatment and medications to residents as needed.
Observes drug effects/interactions daily.
Assigns and directs staff on their particular shift according to their capabilities and job position.
The Shift Supervisor will perform rounds throughout the day to assess and assist with resident care.
Is responsible for all communications between the facility and medical physicians.
Do Alert Charting and monitor Fall Reports.
Shift Supervisors schedule and attend family/resident conferences. Also, serves as the primary point of contact for families of resident’s in your building.
Evaluate new residents; coordinating w. Admissions and Marketing, before they are admitted and setting up care plans.
Maintain and promote staff compliance with federal, state, local, and facility policies and procedures and infection control guidelines.
Upon admission, the Shift Supervisor documents new resident needs and oversees/completes all required assessments during admission.
Set up oxygen for residents and equipment if ordered by physician.
Responsible for keeping medical room free from clutter.
Shift Supervisors update and monitor resident care plans on a quarterly basis.
Surveillance of infection control standards within the facility.
Assists with employee health program i.e. TB tests and hepatitis vaccinations.
Promote safety for residents and staff.
Required to attend ten hours of continuing education per year.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $60,000.00 to $65,000.00 /year
