Trotter & Morton Facility Services provides 24/7 preventive and predictive mechanical system maintenance and repair to condominiums, commercial, and institutional buildings.

Successful applicants will join a team of experienced personnel by bringing a willingness to learn and an entrepreneurial spirit. The ideal candidate is a certified HVAC Service Technician with experience within a mechanical service company, capable of taking direct instructions readily, managing time efficiently, and communicating effectively with customers and co‑workers.

• Assemble and install refrigeration or air conditioning components such as motors, controls, gauges, valves, circulating pumps, condensers, humidifiers, evaporators and compressors using hand and power tools
• Measure and cut piping, and connect piping using welding and brazing equipment
• Install, troubleshoot and overhaul entire heating, ventilation, air handling, refrigeration, air conditioning, and hydronic/boiler systems
• Start up systems and test for leaks using testing devices
• Recharge systems with refrigerant, check and test regulators, calibrate systems and perform routine maintenance or servicing
• Repair and replace parts and components for entire refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation or heat pump systems
• Manufacturer recommended maintenance and repair for boiler and hydronic systems to ensure efficient and reliable operation
• May install, maintain and repair equipment in refrigerated trucks used to transport food or medical supplies
• Provide service and customer support during field visits or dispatches
• Communicate with Dispatch team for personnel scheduling and service optimization
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings or other specifications
• Measure and lay out reference points for installation
• May prepare work estimates for clients
• Mentor apprentices

• Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
• Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
• Ability to take orders and instructions
• Ability to prioritize workloads and utilize planning & time management skills to adhere to strict deadlines
• Ability to lead by example
• Ability to teach apprentices
• Confined space, lift and any other safety training

• Trade certification
• 4–5 years service experience
• Chiller and cooling tower experience is considered an asset
• Valid driver's license and clean record
