Sycamore Springs RN, Assessment Specialist/Intake Specialist - $5,000 Sign on Bonus!

Weekend Days (Saturday, Sunday, Monday) 7am - 7pm
Sycamore Springs, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking an RN Assessment Specialist/Intake Specialist to provide clinical, operational, and administrative excellence. The role supports patient intake via in‑person, phone, or tele‑assessment triajes, ensuring safety and timely care.
How you’ll contribute- Assess or ensure assessment by a qualified mental health professional of patients presenting for assessment.
- Screens for medical and behavioral emergency conditions.
- Performs comprehensive assessment and provides quality therapeutic care to patients seeking treatment for substance abuse, dual diagnosis, or psychiatric or emotional disorders; coordinates with the clinical team/on‑call physician to meet needs at the facility or appropriate community providers.
- Interprets treatment to patient and family to reduce fear and other barriers to acceptance of care and continuation of treatment.
- Completes administrative processes of admission and precertification of care with external payers, as necessary.
- Administers nursing care to ill or injured persons by assisting in caring for patients by giving direct care.
- Coordinates and delivers quality general and psychiatric nursing care to patients hospitalized for treatment of substance abuse, dual diagnosis, or psychiatric or emotional disorders.
- Ensures safety and well‑being of each patient.
- Ensures all medical orders are followed, initiates and follows treatment planning, and acts as a patient advocate at all times.
Reports to: Assessment Director/Supervisor
FLSA Status: None Exempt
Preferred Experience: Previous experience in a psychiatric health care facility with direct experience working with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric and geriatric patients. Experience with patient assessments, family motivations, treatment planning, and communication with external review organizations or comparable entities.

- Education: Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing or hold a relevant state licensure.
- Experience: Previous experience in a psychiatric health care facility with direct experience working with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric, and geriatric patients preferred. Experience in patient assessments, family motivations, treatment planning and communication with external review organizations or comparable entities.
- License: Current unencumbered license to practice by the State Board of Nursing.
