Fusion Medical Staffing‑Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU – Progressive Care Unit for a 13‑week assignment in Lafayette, Indiana. The role will begin on 06/16/2026 and requires 36 hours per week on 12‑hour day shifts.

A Step‑down RN provides care to patients transitioning from intensive care to medical‑surgical units. Responsibilities include monitoring telemetry, administering medications, preparing equipment, maintaining patient comfort, documenting care, educating patients, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.

• One year of recent experience as a Stepdown RN
• Current valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
• Current ACLS certification (AHA/ARC)

• Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) certification
• NIHSS certification
• Other relevant certifications and licenses

• Monitors and interprets cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and telemetry data
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments focusing on cardiac care
• Prepares equipment and assists physicians during cardiac procedures
• Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of telemetry patients
• Observes and records significant conditions, notifying supervisors or physicians
• Responds to life‑saving situations according to nursing standards and protocols
• Documents nursing history and physical assessment for assigned telemetry patients
• Initiates patient education on cardiac health, risk factors, and lifestyle modifications
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care
• Maintains confidentiality
• Performs other duties as assigned within scope of practice
• Adheres to hospital safety protocols, infection control, and regulatory standards

• Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English
• PC skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Physical abilities: stationary position, moving equipment (50–100 lbs), push/pull, bend
• Interpersonal skills: work effectively with diverse personnel, maintain positive attitude
• Technical/motor skills: fine manipulation, push/pull, move during procedures
• Mental requirements: handle frequent public contact, meet deadlines under pressure, work independently with occasional supervision, handle irregular activity schedules, maintain concentration to detail
