Qualifications- Minimum of Bachelors in Rehabilitation, Education or Training with 3 years’ experience in a combination of the following:
- Working with young adults with disabilities in community based job sites
- Job Training, Job Coaching
- Case Management Coordination
- Marketing
- Vocational Rehabilitation
- Advocacy
- Business/Program Management
- Job Development and Consulting
This position is under the Vocational Services Unit and is considered a full time, salaried position: 205 days based on a 12 month program year.
Job Responsibilities /Essential Functions- Assess and train high school students with special needs, ages 16 through 22, in established community-based work training sites.
- Provide operational oversight to four established employment training programs through the Vocational Unit.
- Coordinate, implement and evaluate student training and student growth, based on student interest, ability and family input, the Host site's Business Liaisons and school district Vocational Coordinators.
- Maintain LADSE’s professional business profile within the host sites and among the surrounding business communities.
- Educate business partners on working with people with disabilities and on promoting student independence and self‑advocacy.
- Prepare reports, maintain data bases, team with coworkers and other professionals on building capacity within the unit and the business community.
- Practice and share knowledge of current regulatory requirements of program funders/sponsors, state and local employment and employment‑related laws such as Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Department of Labor (DOL), Illinois Division of Rehabilitation Services (DRS) and Workforce Improvement Opportunity Act (WIOA).
- Able to travel to and from all work site locations before, after and within the hours of program operation.
