Monday – Friday, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm (flexible schedule may be required)

Hours per week: 37.5 hours

• 12‑month basis

Salary range: $33,280 – $48,256 (depending on qualifications)

The Custodian performs varied and routine cleaning, maintenance, and custodial duties on the Lancaster campus. Responsibilities include restrooms, offices, general building areas, and auditorium/multi‑purpose spaces.

• High school diploma or GED
• No prior work experience required

• Three years of related work experience or equivalent, preferably on a college campus

• Considerable knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment
• Ability to read and understand safety warnings, blood‑borne pathogen precautions, and product labels
• Physical ability to carry out duties as assigned
• Basic math and measuring calculations
• Time‑management and organization skills

Restrooms (20%)

• Scrub and sanitize commodes and urinals twice daily
• Empty trash containers as needed
• Wipe down walls and partitions
• Replace paper supplies and deodorizers as needed

Offices (20%)

• Dust furniture
• Clean windows
• Empty trash containers

General Building Cleaning (30%)

• Vacuum all floors daily (offices, meeting rooms, labs, and classrooms)
• Maintain stairways, walls, rails, and concession areas
• Sweep and mop labs, restrooms, kitchen, and entry areas

Auditorium & Multi‑Purpose Space (30%)

• Dust furniture
• Clean windows
• Empty trash containers
• Wipe down tables

Safety‑Sensitive / Security‑Sensitive positions are subject to pre‑employment and post‑employment drug testing per University policy (HR 1.95, Drug and Alcohol Testing).
