Sales Associate

About the Role

Part‑time Sales Associate – hourly, starting at $11.00. The position requires working a flexible schedule (days, evenings, weekends, overnight shifts, and occasional travel).

• Greet and assist customers promptly, handling multiple customers efficiently.
• Understand and meet customer needs by providing product knowledge, answering questions and offering recommendations.
• Engage in suggestive selling and stay informed on product availability.
• Promote store events and promotions to enhance the shopping experience.
• Resolve customer concerns, offering alternative solutions and aiming to turn returns into exchanges.
• Communicate management needs for merchandise restocking, service requirements and customer feedback.
• Collaborate with the team to achieve store and company objectives.

• At least 16 years old.
• Available to work a flexible schedule.
• Comfortable with or willing to learn technology (cash registers, handheld and mobile devices).
• Good communicator and ability to engage with customers.
• Professional handling of customer interactions and potential issues.
• Basic information‑gathering skills to solve problems.
• Ability to learn procedural knowledge through on‑the‑job training.

• Frequently operate cash register.
• Move merchandise up to 25lb. and place/remove up to 5–10ft high.
• Ascend/descend ladders to retrieve and put away stock.
• Adopt positions such as kneel, bend, twist, stoop.
• Communicate and exchange information with customers telephone and face‑to‑face, with managers and coworkers.
• Move across the sales floor and to/from the stock room.
• Work flexible schedule including day, evening, weekends, overnight shifts and occasional travel.
• Interpret email and print instructions regarding merchandise layouts, associate schedules, and SOPs.
• Remain in a stationary, upright position 80% of the time.
