• Must possess a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with appropriate grade level certification
• Must meet NCLB highly qualified teacher standards in English/Language Arts and/or passed the equivalent MTTC tests
• Endorsements of   or BA or BX are required, additional content area endorsement preferred
• Experience with middle school students preferred

• Establish a positive learning environment with highly effective instruction and appropriate routines and procedures
• Employ a variety of instructional techniques to ensure student academic growth
• Collaborate with teams of educators to meet the needs of students
• Utilize technology to enhance and individualize instruction and stay current with changing trends
• Communicate student progress and concerns regularly with parents and colleagues
• Administer standardized student assessments when needed
• Attendance is an essential job function
