Position: Middle School Math Teacher with ELA Endorsement

Overview

Position: Middle School Math teacher; ELA Endorsement preferred

Ravenna Public Schools is seeking a passionate and student-centered Middle School Math & ELA Teacher who is committed to helping students grow academically, socially, and emotionally. We are looking for an enthusiastic educator who creates engaging learning experiences, builds strong relationships with students, and uses data and formative assessment practices to drive instruction and support student success.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution.
  • Valid Michigan teaching certificate.
  • Math (EX) 6-12 endorsement required, additional ELA (BA) grades 6-12 endorsement preferred
Job Functions
  • Knowledge of age-appropriate grade-level common core standards/MI grade-level content expectations.
  • Possess strong communication, public relations and interpersonal skills
  • Possess strong classroom management skills
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Instruct assigned students in the locations and at the times designated.
  • Plan a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
  • Create a positive, engaging, and student-centered classroom environment that supports high levels of learning for all students.
  • Plan and deliver high-quality instruction aligned to district curriculum and state standards in Math and English Language Arts.
  • Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects while effectively communicating those objectives to students.
  • Utilize formative assessments and student data to monitor progress, inform instruction, and provide timely feedback.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic and social-emotional needs of middle school learners.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations.
  • Communicate effectively and collaboratively with students, families, colleagues, and administration.
  • Participate in professional learning opportunities and contribute positively to the school culture and team environment.
  • Support and uphold school expectations, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
