* JOB SUMMARY:

** The CNC Machinist II performs intermediate-level machining tasks with minimal supervision. This role involves programming, setting up and operating CNC dual-spindle lathes for low to medium volume precision machining. Interpreting complex drawings and collaborating across departments.

* ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

** These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.
* Develop and modify machining programs using CAM software (Mastercam preferred)
* Experience or familiarity operating CMX, NHX, DMU
65, DMU
50, and VCF CNC machines
* Design and build tooling, fixtures, and work holding solutions
* Perform machine setup including tooling offsets, work offsets, and prove-out of new programs
* Interpret complex engineering drawings, including GD&T
* Inspect in-process and finished parts using precision measuring equipment
* Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and process issues to improve quality and efficiency
* Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve technical challenges
* Operate basic shop equipment including bandsaws, manual lathes, mills, drill presses, and shears
* Maintain machines, tooling, and work areas in a clean and safe condition
* Follow all company safety procedures and support continuous improvement initiatives
* Mentor junior machinists and support skill development within the team

* MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

* • High School diploma or GED required.
• 3-10 years of CNC machining experience.

* PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

*** Ability to independently program, set up, and operate CNC lathes with minimal supervision
* Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, feeds/speeds, and work holding
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
* Experience using precision inspection equipment
* Experience with dual-spindle CNC lathes
* Experience with mill-turn machining
* Familiarity with DN Solutions lathes
* Experience with BMT
65 live tooling systems
* Mastercam programming experience
* Experience machining tight-tolerance, high-performance, or defense-related components
* Familiarity with FANUC-based controls
* Proficiency with Windows-based software (Excel, Outlook, etc.)
* Ownership of standard machinist tools
