Controller, Finance & Banking, Accounting & Finance

Our client is seeking a hands-on, operationally focused Controller to serve as the senior-most finance leader within the organization. This role will lead the accounting and financial operations functions while partnering with executive leadership to support business performance, financial discipline, and continued growth. The ideal candidate is a strong accounting leader who is comfortable owning the details, leading a small team, and operating in a fast-paced, inventory-driven environment.

What You Will Do:

• Lead all day-to-day accounting operations, including month-end close, GL, financial reporting, and internal controls
• Own the budgeting and forecasting process, providing timely and accurate financial insights to leadership
• Manage cash flow, working capital, and financial planning in a seasonal, inventory-driven business
• Prepare and analyze monthly and year-end financial statements
• Lead the annual audit process and maintain relationships with external auditors, banks, and advisors
• Develop, mentor, and manage a small accounting team
• Identify and implement process improvements

What You Will Need to Be Successful:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA preferred but not required
• Progressive accounting and finance experience, ideally within a manufacturing, distribution, or inventory-based environment
• Strong ownership of the accounting function, including close, reporting, audit, and internal controls
• Experience with inventory and cost accounting in a product-based business
• Proven ability to communicate financial performance
• Hands-on leadership style with the ability to operate both strategically and tactically within a small team environment
