Systems Engineer, Electrical Engineering
Overview
As a Senior Engineering Technician at SILTT, you are the primary tactical engine of the Oaklawn Campus. This is a versatile, high-tempo role that requires you to be a master of the "Physical Layer." You are responsible for the hands-on execution of three critical operational areas:
Campus Facilities Maintenance (keeping the lights on and the air moving), Engineering Lab Integration (building the hardware that defines our future), and Global Sustainment Logistics (surging to support the gear that sustains our global mission). You are a high-performing generalist who moves seamlessly between a tool kit, a forklift, and a server rack.
WHO WE ARE:
At SILTT we’re pushing the limits of infrastructure innovation in the Telecommunications and Information Technology industry. From delivering world-class modular data center facilities to all-hours, 365-day operational response and disaster recovery, our multi-functional team of experts are force multipliers across the infrastructure landscape. We pride ourselves in leading from the front to advise, assist, and accompany our clients through their toughest technological and operational challenges.
We always deliver results (spelled “re-SILTTs”)!
WHY SILTT? At SILTT, “objective-driven” means first being “people-driven”. As a small business we know that the ability to achieve our mission demands we take care of our own by providing our team members with a variety of benefits that allow them to live fulfilling, healthy, balanced, meaningful lives. That’s why we believe in offering paid healthcare, ultra-competitive 401K matching, accrued paid time off and fixed holiday leave, continuous learning and professional development incentives, and promote a sustainable work-life balance.
A CALL TO ACTION:
At SILTT, "Senior" means you are a subject matter expert in doing. You don't just identify a problem; you fix it. You don't just look at a blueprint; you build it. Whether you are performing a technical PM on our MEP systems, preparing a complex repair kit, or assembling a new liquid-cooling prototype, you are the guardian of quality and the primary driver of campus readiness.
Day in the Life
Your role is defined by technical variety and mission-critical impact. On any given day, you might:
Perform a Preventative Maintenance (PM) Round, checking the health of Oaklawn’s critical power and cooling systems to ensure 100% campus uptime.
Execute a Global Kitting Task, pulling technical inventory, verifying part numbers, and physically packing a "mission-ready" kit for a field service deployment.
Lead a Rack-and-Stack Integration, installing server hardware and managing complex structured cabling in the Integration Floor.
Operate Warehouse Machinery, moving heavy modular components or crated inventory to support global shipping schedules.
Support a "First-of-a-Kind" (FOAK) Build, performing the physical assembly of a prototype—drilling, mounting, and connecting systems under the guidance of the Technical Leads.
Reset a Workspace, ensuring new team members have a perfect "Launch Day" experience with fully integrated desks, power, and networking.
Core ResponsibilitiesExecute the daily and weekly Facilities PM Checklist; perform minor electrical, mechanical, and plumbing repairs across the Oaklawn Campus.
Coordinate with external facility vendors (HVAC, Electrical) for major service events, acting as the on-site technical escort.
Perform high-standard Rack-and-Stack services, including power distribution, labeling, and professional-grade fiber/copper cabling.
Troubleshoot and repair physical layer issues (cabling, mounting, power) at the desk or lab level.
Assist the Fabrication Technical Lead in the machine shop; perform "Rough Fab" tasks, basic welding, and assembly of prototype frames and manifolds.
Maintain the Lab and Shop Environments, ensuring tools are organized, safety protocols are followed, and consumables are restocked.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS5–8 years of experience as a technical generalist (e.g., Facility Tech, Aviation Mechanic, or Field Service Tech).
