We are seeking a high-caliber Senior Payroll Tax Analyst to oversee tax compliance for our expansive global workforce. In this role, you will be the primary subject matter expert for payroll tax across all 50 U.S. states, Canada, Puerto Rico, and Guam. You will manage the end‑to‑end tax lifecycle—from real‑time balancing to year‑end W‑2/T4 production—leveraging People Soft, ADP Smart Compliance, ADP Workforce Now, and Deel to ensure 100% accuracy and regulatory compliance.
EssentialFunctions
- Tax Compliance & Governance:
Manage payroll tax filings and deposits for federal, state, and local jurisdictions across the U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico, and Guam. - Tax Balancing:
Perform rigorous daily, per‑pay‑period, and quarterly tax balancing to reconcile People Soft payroll data against ADP reports. Resolve any variances in taxable wages or tax amounts immediately. - Year‑End Operations:
Lead the year‑end process, including the audit, production, and distribution of W‑2s (U.S./Guam/PR) and T4s (Canada). Ensure all corrected forms (W‑2c) are filed accurately. - Global Coordination:
Support payroll tax requirements for a global headcount of 45,000+, ensuring international mobility and cross‑border tax implications are addressed. - Audit & Research:
Serve as the lead point of contact for internal and external payroll tax audits. Stay ahead of legislative changes to ensure system configurations remain compliant. - Agency Management:
Proactively manage tax notices and tracers from various jurisdictions, ensuring timely resolution of discrepancies and penalty abatement requests.
- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience, OR a Graduate Degree and at least 2 years of related experience, OR in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 8 years of related experience.
- 4+ years of dedicated payroll tax experience in a large‑scale corporate environment.
- Mastery of payroll tax laws in all 50 U.S. states, plus specialized knowledge of Canadian (CRA/Revenu Québec), Puerto Rico (Hacienda), and Guam tax regulations.
- Advanced hands‑on experience with People Soft Payroll and ADP Smart Compliance.
- Expert‑level Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, Power Query) for large‑scale data reconciliation and tax balancing; familiarity with AI‑driven data validation tools.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater
D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $73,000–$135,000. The salary range for this role in Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, and Vermont is $63,500–$117,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation; final offer may vary based on experience and geographic location. L3
