Logistics Manager Opportunity with the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), Supporting Sizewell C
As part of the CWA (Civil Works Alliance), you will support the building of Sizewell
C. Sizewell C will be a 3.2-gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and will play a key role in our energy future, supplying reliable, clean electricity for at least 60 years. This role will be within the Logistics & Services Section.
- Lead the 4–6 week forecasting and planning process, consolidating inputs from contractors and aligning with project requirements.
- Manage delivery slots through the Delivery Management System (DMS), ensuring compliance with vehicle caps, permits, and escort requirements.
- Oversee real time operations, including site access, routing compliance, abnormal load movements, and safety protocols.
- Produce and maintain logistics trackers (AIL lists, materials, forecasts) and provide weekly reporting dashboards.
- Act as the single point of coordination between contractors, police, highways authorities, Network Rail, and internal project teams.
- Enforce contractor compliance with logistics procedures, escalating issues where necessary.
- Identify risks, bottlenecks, and capacity constraints early and propose practical solutions.
- Drive continuous improvement by applying lessons learned, introducing digital tools, and training logistics staff and contractors.
Knowledge & Skills
- Proven experience managing logistics on major infrastructure, construction, or industrial projects
- Strong understanding of delivery management systems, abnormal load processes, and site logistics
- Excellent coordination and stakeholder management skills, able to engage contractors and authorities
- Analytical and problem‑solving mindset with ability to make decisions under pressure
- Familiarity with reporting, forecasting, and compliance monitoring
- Clear communicator and natural organiser
- Assertive but collaborative approach to contractor management
- Strategic thinker with an eye for detail
- Calm under pressure and solutions‑oriented
