Production Manager, Operations Manager
Role Summary
Manufacturing Supervisor manages shift production to achieve safety, quality, service, waste, productivity, and culture goals through strong leadership, systems management, equipment maintenance, and employee development.
Key Responsibilities- Act as a safety leader; collaborate with the EHS Manager to maintain a safe work environment and conduct daily audits, GEMBAs, incident investigations, and continuous improvement activities.
- Monitor colleague practices to ensure compliance with regulatory and company safety and quality policies, investigate near‑miss, property damage, or employee injury incidents, and recommend improvements.
- Oversee daily production to meet production goals, manage timecards and time‑off requests to support accurate payroll and coverage.
- Champion continuous improvement projects and sustain gains from initiatives.
- Manage daily production schedules, recommend efficiency improvements, and resolve equipment or material problems in collaboration with Maintenance and Process Engineering.
- Apply advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to troubleshoot, perform preventive maintenance, and conduct repair work on plant equipment.
- Investigate and report when production standards are not met; analyze production information using dashboards and SAP.
- Promote a high‑performance culture, support teamwork, and create open communication with colleagues.
- Supervise employees, conduct performance reviews, address employee relations opportunities, and enforce company disciplinary processes fairly.
- Ensure employee training is current and concepts are retained.
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years experience in operations, production supervision, quality, or maintenance; OR 5 or more years of combined education and experience.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Computer proficiency required (MS Office Suite); SAP experience is a plus.
- Strong commitment to safety and quality, excellent communication and problem‑solving skills, and the ability to manage conflict and make decisions under pressure.
- A leadership style that encourages team involvement, improved morale, and continuous improvement.
- Highly organized and detail‑oriented with the ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.
