About the Position
The University of Lethbridge invites applications for the position of Tier 2 Canada Research Chair (CRC) in the area of Genomics in Precision Health. We seek an exceptional scholar who will contribute to the University’s research agenda. Successful candidates will work on genomics studies of human health, including predictive and prognostic biomarkers, omics (panomics, genomics, transcriptomics, translatomics, methylomics), pharmacogenomics, personalized medicine, cancer therapies, cancer immunogenomics, aging and related diseases, and neurodegenerative diseases.

The successful candidate will be appointed in the Department of Biological Sciences, bringing a competitive research funding record and an internationally recognized research program. Candidates will attract funding from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada, Canadian Institute for Health Research, and other granting agencies to support a vibrant, externally funded research program. They will also have expertise to teach scientific courses (existing or newly developed) within the department’s curriculum, such as Bioinformatics and Genomics courses.

Qualifications
Tier 2 CRCs are for exceptional emerging scholars acknowledged by their peers as having the potential to lead in their field. A Tier 2 CRC appointment lasts five years and is renewable once. Candidates should be within ten years of their first independent academic research‑related appointment, or further if legitimate career interruptions have occurred. Candidates will be expected to maintain an established research portfolio, build an internationally recognized research program, attract outstanding graduate students and post‑doctoral fellows, and demonstrate superior mentoring and teaching skills.
