Position OverviewCMTA, a Legence company, is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with 8+ years of experience in Consulting Engineering. The position is responsible for designing and overseeing electrical systems, power distribution, lighting and lighting controls, emergency power, UPS, renewable energy systems, fire alarm systems, low-voltage systems/coordination (IT, safety, security, access control), etc., for bidding and construction on various projects. This role will be part of a team designing energy-efficient buildings for CMTA's clients.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, with a strong technical background, and will be involved in all phases of the project. We seek candidates with proven experience in project management and business development. This position will be located onsite in our Lexington office.
- Lead and guide design and construction projects internally within the office and externally with clients and contractors.
- Provide guidance, support, mentorship, and leadership to staff engineers.
- Prepare, read, and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Professionally stamp drawings, prepare affidavits, etc.
- Interact with owners, clients, architects, and contractors with verbal and written communication. Lead and guide meetings as needed.
- Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform assigned tasks.
- Confer with other engineers and personnel to complete project deadlines.
- Apply knowledge of engineering principles to design, research, and evaluate products, equipment, systems, and processes to meet project requirements.
- Design and specify system components to ensure conformance with project goals and requirements.
- Research and analyze clients’ design requirements, manuals, and data to evaluate feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications.
- Review contractor submittals (shop drawings, etc.) to determine conformance with contract documents.
- 8+ years of experience with MEP design
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited school
- Professional Engineer (PE) License
- Experience with internal and external project management
- Experience in MEP design and specifications
- Experience with managing, maintaining and creating Owner and Architect relationships
- Experience with Healthcare, Higher Education, K-12 and Commercial market sectors
- Experience with Revit/AutoCAD
