Coating Inspector

Position Overview

Join our team as a Coating Inspector
, where you’ll play an important role in supporting safe and compliant field operations. In this seasonal 4‑to‑6‑month position based in Baltimore, you’ll help oversee daily pipeline and gas distribution construction activities performed by contractor crews. You will monitor job‑site practices, ensure federal regulations and company policies are followed, and document progress each day. You’ll participate in safety briefings, verify crews have the proper qualifications, and keep accurate records from both safety and efficiency perspectives.

Using your judgment, you’ll identify potential issues, determine their seriousness, and take the right steps to resolve them.

• Monitor and oversee daily pipeline and gas distribution construction activities performed by contractor crews.
• Ensure compliance with federal regulations, OSHA laws, and company policies.
• Document daily progress and maintain accurate records.
• Participate in safety briefings and verify crew qualifications.
• Identify potential issues, assess severity, and implement corrective actions.
• Review coating materials and inspect pipe for defects.
• Guide crews on corrective actions and ensure contractor follows all required specifications.
• Provide oversight and direction of the coating process on piping, ensuring field‑applied coatings are mixed, prepared, and applied per client procedures and applicable standards.

• Minimum of 10 years of work experience in the utility or pipeline industries, or a related industry.
• NACE CIP Level 1, Level 2, or Level 3 certification required (as determined by client).
• API 1169 certification preferred.

This position pays between $30 and $40 per hour and is a non‑exempt position.
