At Northrop Grumman, the Manager of Capture & Business Development 2 will lead capture excellence activities for the Weapon Systems (WS) division, ensuring timely, high‑quality capture efforts that meet or exceed business standards. This role may be based in Linthicum Heights, Maryland;
Mesa, Arizona;
Northridge, California;
Elkton, Maryland;
Plymouth, Minnesota;
McLean, Virginia;
Fairfax, Virginia;
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; or most locations within Weapon Systems. Highly qualified candidates may have the option to work remotely.
- Support the business unit and P&L leaders to achieve near‑term and long‑term growth targets.
- Primary leader on assigned capture activity throughout the Weapon Systems (WS) division.
- Lead and/or consult on the capture execution of enterprise, sector, and division priority pursuits.
- POC to NG leadership on key division captures.
- Improve division capture processes and drive capture excellence habits through the division.
- Align the division to the Northrop Grumman business acquisition process (BAP) through the management and execution of capture training activities.
- Align the division to all available sector and enterprise capture resources.
- 12 years experience or Bachelor’s Degree with 8 years of experience or Master’s Degree with 6 years of experience in Defense/Aerospace Industry.
- Experienced Business Development professional and/or Capture Manager across a diverse set of business lines, products, customers, and countries.
- 3+ years experience of executing, leading and/or teaching a defense industry business acquisition process (BAP) and Capture/Proposal process.
- 5+ years experience pursuing at least $100M U.S. DoD and international captures with high visibility among senior company leadership.
- Experience in customer engagement strategy, position to win, price‑to‑win, and competitive analysis.
- Strong background in program management, business operations, and U.S. DoD priorities.
- Active Secret Clearance.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Master’s Degree in Business Administration or similar and 10 years of work experience in the defense/aerospace business, military, or national security enterprise.
- 5+ years experience of executing, leading and/or teaching the Northrop Grumman business acquisition process (BAP) and Capture/Proposal process.
- 15+ years experience in U.S. and international defense contracting requirements, processes, and customer needs.
- Understanding of Northrop Grumman business priorities, strategy, capture resources, and key stakeholders.
- Proven track record on both competitive and non‑competitive capture activities.
