As a Security Officer – Surveillance, you will be the person spotting threats before they escape escalation in environments such as a security operations center, call center, parking gatehouse, etc.

Full time, Monday through Friday, 3rd shift, 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. - Competitive hourly wage of $21 hour (Daily Pay is available for Garda World employees!)

- Coordinates and assists with the direction and dispatching of an assigned team of security personnel to carry out the daily protective operations of the department.
- Acts on all customer service related calls and either resolves them personally or refers issues to the appropriate individuals.
- Manages information flow to and from incident sites, off‑site responders, vendors, and other response personnel.
- Monitors all security, communications, and fire/life safety systems.
- Systemically monitors and communicates potential and known threats that may impact client coworkers and operations across the globe.
- Maintains effective communication among all levels of the organization during a crisis event.
- Serves as the liaison between all departments and the Security Department.
- Directly responsible for the accurate documentation of routine and unusual events occurring on or near the facilities (accomplished via shift reports, pass‑down logs, incident reports, incident reports logs, or other established methods).
- Proactively monitors all surveillance cameras, and CCTV remote‑viewer programs, and responds to all security/life safety system alarms.
- Answers and responds to events and situations received over regular and emergency phones and intercoms.
- Speaks clearly, gives direction, and provides guidance to employees and security staff during emergencies.
- Maintains a professional, friendly, and positive communication style.
- Comfortable in a high‑tech work environment; the ideal candidate keeps pace with an environment where there is constant learning of new mechanisms, applications, and tools.
- Adapts to a dynamic environment and works under pressure.
- Assesses and evaluates situations effectively.
- Exhibits aptitude for clear and effective written/verbal directions and clarifying information under time‑sensitive conditions.
- Establishes priorities, multi‑tasks, works independently, and completes objectives in a fast‑paced and demanding work environment.
- Has working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
- Must be able to walk, stand, sit, or climb stairs for long periods of time.
- Monitors security systems to detect any suspicious activity.
- Documents observed events and incidents, writing detailed reports.
- Responds quickly to incidents or potential threats.
- Conducts regular patrols to ensure the safety of the premises.
- Controls access to secure areas and verifies the identities of visitors.
- Analyzes security systems to identify potential vulnerabilities or malfunctions.
- Collaborates with law enforcement in case of serious situations or emergencies.
- Ensures the safety and protection of individuals and property.
- Must have a valid IL PERC
- Must have at least 2 years experience as a Command Center Operator
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Previous experience working in a Global Security Operations Center (GSOC)
- Broad geopolitical awareness, knowledge of global events, and cultural sensitivity.
