We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated Community Maternity Support Workers to join our existing team. You will be part of the Antenatal clinic team. The successful applicants will need to be flexible and adaptable, working weekends and bank holidays if required.
The Maternity Support Worker (MSW) will work as a member of the Midwifery Team in the delivery of safe care to women and their babies, within the Antenatal clinic setting both at Crown Street site and Aintree.
The MSW will carry out a defined range of duties delegated by the registered member of the multidisciplinary team. They will work with minimal supervision and use their initiative, on a frequent basis to assist in the planning, delivery, evaluation and implementation of agreed programmes of care which will involve direct care to women, their partners and babies.
The post holder will ensure that women and babies receive safe, individualised and effective standards of care by following care plans as directed by the registered Midwife and will report any concerns or changes in the condition of the woman and baby appropriately.
Duties and responsibilities for the role will be discussed and agreed on a daily basis with the midwife in charge with communication channels open throughout the day for further advice and support.
The MSW will provide support to Medics and Midwives for Antenatal clinics as well as provide phlebotomy services in a busy clinic, both at Crown Street site and Aintree.
