Shop Volunteer – General Assistant (Llantwit Major Clothing)
Your local British Red Cross shop offers a variety of activities for volunteers, including sorting stock, preparing donated items for sale, and providing excellent customer service. The shop is a great place to learn new skills and share existing ones.
Responsibilities- Check the quality of donated items and prepare them for sale or recycling.

- Support customers and donors with friendly service.
We offer flexible volunteering hours. You can commit a few hours a week during the week or weekend, as agreed with the shop manager. There is no minimum commitment or fixed hours. We simply ask that you agree to hours you can reliably attend and let us know if the schedule changes.
Qualifications- No previous experience needed – full training will be provided.
- A warm smile and a friendly outlook.
- Ability to work reliably for the agreed hours.
- Meet new people and become part of a dynamic and inclusive team.
- Build confidence and gain new skills.
- Reasonable pre‑agreed travel expenses for the role, including for attending training.
- Opportunity to be part of the world’s largest humanitarian organisation and make a positive difference in people’s lives.
We celebrate diversity and welcome volunteers of all backgrounds. We specifically encourage refugees, asylum seekers and anyone currently in the UK to volunteer with us. Our environment is inclusive and promotes the power of kindness. We have an expenses policy that prioritises volunteers not being out of pocket for role‑related expenses. If upfront costs are difficult, speak to your volunteer manager to find alternatives.
