Base salary: £46,606 pa to c.£58,963 pa depending on skills and experience. We also offer a flexible benefits fund of 20% paid on top of base salary, fully pensionable.

Technical Assurance Manager – You’ll ensure the correct and consistent application of technical assurance processes across Integrated Project Teams and/or groups of contracts. You will support the application and review of the technical assurance regime, set processes, and report on compliance from the delivery perspective.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure consistent application of technical assurance processes by the supply chain and HS2 across delivery contracts.
- Ensure the supply chain self‑assesses its own work within the IPT.
- Review and accept technical assurance completion evidence from the supply chain.
- Review ongoing levels of capability and competency, identifying support needs to de‑risk the delivery of technically assured products.
- Own and present data‑based reporting on IPT adherence to technical assurance, providing analysis and control metrics.
- Facilitate user feedback on HS2 procedures to the relevant technical group.
- Produce HS2 assurance processes as required by the Lead Technical Assurance Manager.
- Oversee additional verification activities, ensuring a risk‑based approach.
- Support the Head of Engineering, Environment & the IPT in managing verification activity processes.
- Support assurance activities and audits, preparing content, collating evidence, and completing reports.
- Liaise with risk, requirements, configuration & change, and information management to share information and assess risks and issues.
- Promote and embed Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) across all work.
About You
Skills
- Authoring and review of technical documentation.
- Delivery of educational briefings/presentations.
- Competent in digital data and information analysis and trend reporting.
- Quantitatively and qualitatively assess delivery performance against objective requirements.
Knowledge
- Problem solving and integration using systems engineering thinking within the infrastructure sector.
- Principles of change and configuration management.
- Understanding of CDM Regulations 2015 and European Common Safety Methods guidance.
- Experience with NEC3 contract environment.
- Knowledge of quality management principles (e.g., ISO 9001).
Type of Experience
- Managing and implementing quality and assurance principles for large‑scale infrastructure projects.
- Technical liaison with contractors and designers.
- Multi‑discipline programmes including civil, M&E, architecture, rail systems and rolling stock.
