Job Summary

Clinical Caseload Holder – Band 7 – Beckenham area.

Salary: £53,751 to £60,651 per annum inc HCAS (pro rata). Full time – 37.5 hours per week.

Closing date: 3 June 2026.

Applicants must hold the DN SPQ qualification.

• Overall operational and day‑to‑day management of the community nursing team within the identified caseload.
• Ensure quality of care, financial and performance targets are met and sustained.
• Act as a clinical expert in District Nursing, providing clinical supervision and line management.
• Collaborate with PCN Clinical Neighbourhood Manager and other Clinical Caseload Holders to maintain consistency and quality across community teams.
• Work with the Safer Care directorate to provide evidence‑based, in‑depth clinical and professional knowledge for the nursing element of the service.
• Cover the Beckenham area and work flexibly during core District Nursing hours (8:15 am–6:45 pm), including 1 in 4 weekends (bank holidays) for patient visits and the Nurse of the Day role.
• Hold responsibility for a defined caseload of patients, providing robust clinical services and working closely with allocated GP practices and other professional staff.

Essential:

• Degree level education.
• RN (Adult Branch) and District Nurse qualification (or equivalent experience).
• Prescribing module V100/V300.
• NMC registered nurse – adults.

Desirable:

• Management/Leadership qualification.
• Masters level qualification.

Essential:

• Significant community nursing experience.
• Experience working in a multi‑disciplinary team.
• Clinical supervision experience.
• Evidence of involvement in developing protocols and service changes through clinical audit.
• HR management of staff – including one‑to‑one appraisals.

Desirable:

• Involvement in change/project management.
• Performance management of staff, implementing personal improvement plans.

Essential:

• Ability to use and interrogate software to support client care (e.g., dashboards, Malinko, EMIS, electronic records, email).
• Ability to lead a team and manage/develop staff.
• Management and investigation of complaints and incidents.
• Strong verbal and written communication; ability to provide and receive complex information.
• Analytical decision‑making in relation to risk and patient care in complex cases.
• Awareness of local and DOH legislation and its impact on service delivery.
• UK driver’s licence with access to own car with clean licence.
• Ability to work required shifts including weekends and bank holidays.

Desirable:

• Root cause analysis.

Essential:

• Evidence of continuing professional development relevant to district nursing.
• Clinical audit training.
• Appraisal training.
• Leadership training course.

Desirable:

• Mentorship qualification.
• Sign‑off mentor.
• Recruitment and selection training.
