Your Opportunity

The CVM Strategic Projects team is currently seeking a Senior Manager, CVM Strategic Projects Delivery Lead. This role will provide leadership for key ground-breaking initiatives through the development and execution of projects, process improvement, and organizational change management. The Strategic Projects team is responsible for leading Corporate Vendor Management (CVM) ground-breaking projects and programs that result in the advancement of core CVM capabilities for Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, Oversight and Monitoring. Initiatives range from implementing solutions that enable Schwab business partners to move quickly on their objectives to leading our CVM partners through technology and process optimization journeys.

What you are good at

Play a crucial delivery and problem-solving role within Corporate Vendor Management (CVM) focused on project leadership, organizational change, execution expertise, technology enablement, and process optimization. The Senior Manager is an individual contributor role. However, they will be expected to lead cross-functional project teams of varying sizes and is responsible for the overall delivery and adoption of initiatives.

Project Leadership

  • Deftly navigate organizational structure/politics to influence program direction, decisions and delivery to achieve desired business outcomes.
  • Act as a thought partner to project sponsors, business partners and external vendor representatives; Collaborate to identify unarticulated needs and improve business benefits; Able to represent executive viewpoints.
  • Acquire knowledge of business processes and supporting technologies to define project scope, lead cross-functional designs and ultimately realize the value of the initiative through successful delivery.
  • End to end project planning and execution using project management standard methodologies, developing integrated project plans with landmark management and interdependencies, risk management and resource planning.
  • Encourage project team members to improve their own performance; engage and empower teams to go beyond their role expectations, to help each other, and to exceed goals.
  • Organizational Change Management – Communications, Training, & Business Adoption

  • Lead project teams to drive successful adoption of changes within CVM and key business partners.
  • Deliver thoughtful, impactful messaging to business leaders. Effectively communicate messages at appropriate level of detail across all levels of the organization
  • Process Improvement

  • Identify CVM opportunities for process improvement and efficiency. Work with CVM to design and implement plans to address found opportunities
  • Build cross-functional alliances and relationships to support sophisticated processes; facilitate cross-functional calibration sessions to ensure alignment and consistency.
  • Create and update workflow designs and written descriptions of processes to support reviews and gap analysis findings.
  • What you have

  • Capability to handle a dynamic workload, aligning with business partners on priorities and target dates
  • Highly motivated, delivery oriented, organized approach with demonstrated leadership abilities
  • Excellent facilitation, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to tailor messages to audience and senior leadership
  • 8+ years prior experience managing projects of varying fields (PMI, PMP Certification or Scrum Master Certification preferred)
  • 5+ years of organizational change management experience
  • 5+ years of experience in process improvement (Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Lean Master preferred)
  • 3+ years of business / system analysis
  • Shown track record of building effective working relationships with senior level business partners and internal / external partners
  • Self-starter, able to run multiple projects and succeed in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with minimal direction
  • Ability to translate business needs into business requirements, and then implement
  • Flexible and adaptable in handling/implementing change and understands how change will affect the team, internal

  • Strong analytical skills, ability to research problems, determine root causes and solutions
  • Experience in developing and delivering executive level PowerPoint reporting
  • BS/BA degree required, MBA preferred
