Job OverviewLooking for a Psychiatric Advanced Practice Nurse to join our dynamic Behavioral Health Team at the Center for Behavioral Wellness (Outpatient practice). The APN provides psychiatric services for patients within a psychosocial milieu, maintains an individual level of knowledge and experience, and assumes responsibility for advancing knowledge utilizing available resource persons and programs.
Required Licenses and Certifications- Current NJ APN license
- NP certification
- CDS required
- DEA required
- RN required
- BLS required
- Day Shift
- 40 hours
- 4–5 days per week
- Comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, intakes, consults, and case‑load management with complete clinical documentation.
- Knowledge of the patient population served and adherence to ethical standards as defined by the ANA code of ethics.
- Ensures safety and applies evidence‑based practice principles, maintaining awareness of one’s own knowledge and experience, and contributing to the growth of the patient care team through communication and resource utilization.
- Provides advanced nursing care based on graduate education and extensive experience with behavioral health patients and families.
- Collaborates with physicians, clinicians, case managers and other health care professionals.
- Conforms to guidelines set by the NJ Board of Nursing, NJSA 13:37, regulating nurses in advanced practice as Nurse Practitioners.
- Executes duties independently following established procedures and methods, referring questionable situations to a physician.
- Provides behavioral health care through assessment, diagnosis, treatment, clinical judgment and management to restore, maintain and improve patient health status.
