Job Title: Test Technician II (SSD Hardware / NVMe / PCIe) – Onsite Lab
Location: Longmont, CO 80501 (Onsite)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, Day Shift (40 hrs/week)
Job Type: W2 Temporary
Pay: $35.00–$45.00 per hour
SSD Hardware Test Technician OverviewWe’re hiring a hands‑on Test Technician to support SSD hardware bring‑up, NVMe/PCIe test system builds, troubleshooting, and daily lab operations in a fast‑paced engineering environment. You’ll help keep validation systems stable and available by building and configuring hardware, executing defined manual test procedures, collecting logs and traces, and documenting results for engineering teams.
This is a 100% onsite role in Longmont, CO (no remote or hybrid).
What You’ll Do- Build, configure, and troubleshoot PC/server‑based test systems used for SSD validation
- Support SSD hardware bring‑up, configuration, and maintenance across multiple platforms and projects
- Set up and troubleshoot NVMe/PCIe storage test environments, including hosts and supporting lab infrastructure
- Execute defined manual test plans and procedures with strong attention to detail and consistency
- Diagnose hardware and system level issues; collect logs, traces, and diagnostic data to support debugging efforts
- Document and summarize test results, failures, and observations clearly for engineering review
- Support lab operations: inventory tracking, shipping and receiving, hardware movement, rack and system setup
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and provide regular status updates in an agile/SCRUM workflow
- Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements; assist with basic automation and scripting where helpful
- Hands‑on experience building and troubleshooting PC or server hardware (assembly, modification, reassembly)
- Strong troubleshooting skills in a lab or technical environment
- Comfortable performing repetitive manual testing with high accuracy
- Working knowledge of Linux and Unix command line (install, troubleshoot, basic debugging)
- Strong written and verbal communication and documentation skills
- Proficiency with Excel for tracking, reporting, and organization
- Ability to work independently using technical documentation and written procedures
- Experience in an SSD, storage, hardware validation, or engineering lab environment
- Familiarity with SSD technologies (preferred but not required)
- Experience with NVMe and PCIe hardware technologies
- Basic scripting in Python and or Shell
- Experience with analyzers and logging debugging tools (protocol analyzers, trace capture, etc.)
- Interest in process improvement and scaling repeatable lab workflows
