Custodian - 2nd Shift

Job title: Custodian I – 2nd Shift (1 position)
Location: Perry Middle School, Perry, OH (Lake Co.)
Working days: 5 days per week (Monday through Friday), 8 hours per day (3:00 PM – 11:30 PM) on a 260‑day contract. Assignment may include any/all of the District’s facilities.
Compensation: $17.22–$24.17 per hour plus shift differential, commensurate with experience per OAPSE negotiated agreement.

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Maintenance and Operations, performs general cleaning and maintenance in school buildings and grounds; maintains equipment in functional condition; and provides a clean and safe environment for students, staff, and community members.

• Effectively utilize necessary equipment to perform essential custodial job functions
• Unload, transport and maintain equipment, materials and supplies
• Assist with district and community activity/event set up and clean up
• Perform seasonal duties including lawn/landscape care and snow removal
• Promote good safety practices
• Uses hand tools of trade and related power equipment, including brooms, mops, floor cleaning and waxing machines, vacuum cleaners, snow removal equipment, power mower and hand tools
• Adheres to all applicable safety rules, procedures and regulations governing the proper use of tools and power equipment used in the performance of duties.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in building and cleaning maintenance desirable.
• Motor vehicle operator’s license or ability to provide own transportation.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning.
• Ability to use common hand/power tools.
• Physical ability to lift, carry, stand, climb, and walk as required, lifting up to 70 lbs.
