Hajoca Corporation is one of the country’s largest privately‑held wholesale distributors of plumbing, heating & cooling, and industrial supplies. Although Hajoca is a large company, we work in a decentralized environment where each of our locations, called Profit Centers (PCs), is run by the Profit Center Manager as if it were their own small business. A typical Profit Center is the heart of our business and consists of a warehouse, counter, sales office, and (sometimes) a showroom. Our PCs conduct business under unique trade names and offer a customized business approach, honoring what’s special about each local marketplace.
J & H AITCHESON is one of those trade names and is looking for a Warehouse Teammate at their Lorton, Virginia location. Pay for Warehouse Teammate is between $21 and $23 per hour.
About the Role- Be responsible for counting, verifying, and receiving incoming vendor shipments and customer return material.
- Stock and maintain the warehouse; and pick, document, and pack customer orders in accordance with Company policy and procedure.
- Act with a high attention to detail to ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
- Handle all shipping discrepancies per procedures or forward appropriate paperwork to designated employee to handle.
- Identify nonstock, special‑order material, and damaged material and store in proper warehouse locations.
- Complete necessary documentation for customer shipments delivered via third‑party carrier.
- Load and unload trucks, operate warehouse forklift and other material handling equipment safely.
- Inform immediate supervisor of stock depletions, count discrepancies, or damaged/defective/non‑saleable merchandise that could impact customer service levels.
- Ensure security and controls are in place and upheld to protect Profit Center assets.
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness, order, and safety. Remove empty cartons, metal bands, pallets, and other debris. Inform immediate supervisor of safety issues.
- Assist co‑workers in servicing customers.
- Perform all job functions in accordance with the company’s Safety Standards.
- Successfully complete required safety and compliance training programs as assigned.
- Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required.
- 1 year warehouse receiving and material handling experience.
- Knowledge of products sold at the Profit Center preferred.
- Training will be conducted in Alexandria, Virginia.
- Schedule:
Monday through Friday; work hours may vary based on business needs. - Strongly prefer if you have a minimum of two (2) years experience with shipping, receiving, inventory control, order picking, and material handling.
- Experience using RF scanners and warehouse inventory systems.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Possess outstanding customer service and communication skills.
- Will have strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Be able to quickly develop comprehensive knowledge of products sold at the Profit Center.
- Be able to build and maintain a positive working relationship with customers, vendors, and co‑workers.
- Know of, be able to apply and practice safety precautions in a warehouse and material handling environment.
- Be able to learn to safely operate a forklift and other material handling equipment in use at the Profit Center.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the workday.
- Be able to learn and operate the computer‑related systems used for warehouse operations.
- Read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
