Join a dynamic and innovative accounting team as an Accounting Manager/Senior Manager specializing in Investments. In this pivotal role, you will lead multiple accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting while managing client investment portfolios across over 400 low‑income multi‑family residential properties. You will work closely with senior management to drive financial performance and implement new business strategies in a flexible and supportive environment.
- Lead month‑end accounting closes, ensuring accurate preparation, maintenance, and reconciliation of general ledger accounts and financial statements.
- Oversee accounting and reporting for fixed assets and debt, as well as complex capital transactions including acquisitions and refinances.
- Manage the resyndication accounting process, from initial transaction analysis to ongoing reporting.
- Conduct technical accounting research and prepare memos for complex transactions to ensure compliance with GAAP.
- Collaborate with property management companies and internal teams to optimize processes and implement strategic initiatives.
- Supervise and mentor on‑site and off‑site accounting teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Coordinate audit activities with external auditors and lead the Sarbanes‑Oxley (SOX) compliance program, ensuring robust internal controls.
- BA/BS in Accounting, Business, or Finance.
- 6‑8 years of technical investment accounting experience or process‑oriented public accounting experience.
- CPA license is required.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting, including consolidations and real estate accounting.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Yardi, with advanced Excel skills.
- Experience in the Low‑Income Housing Tax Credit industry.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP or Net Suite.
- Understanding of complex accounting topics such as Acquisition integration and Revenue Recognition (ASC‑742).
