Job Description Formulation Management & Documentation
  • Manage and maintain accurate product formulations, recipes, and ingredient databases.
  • Ensure formulation data, reports, and records are strictly controlled, confidential, and securely stored.
  • Assist with Bill of Materials (BOM) creation, maintenance, and cost calculations.
  • Support product cost accounting and formulation‑related data analysis.
  • Assist in troubleshooting formulation‑related issues during production to minimize downtime.
Labeling & Regulatory Compliance
  • Create, review, and update ingredient statements, nutrition facts, allergen declarations, cooking instructions, and regulatory information in compliance with FDA, USDA, CFR, and applicable regulations.
  • Prepare and maintain product specifications, SOPs, and regulatory documentation for internal use and customer requests.
  • Conduct research on applicable food laws and regulations under the direction of the R&D Manager.
  • Stay current with updates to food labeling, formulation, and regulatory requirements.
  • Respond to regulatory‑related questions from internal teams and customers as needed.
R&D & Cross‑Functional Support
  • Assist QA with writing and updating product specifications and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Support testing data analysis, sensory evaluations, and competitive product reviews.
  • Prepare minor ingredients and assist with benchtop trials and plant trials.
  • Monitor and spot‑check production processes to ensure adherence to R&D standards.
  • Coordinate with Production, QA, Maintenance, and other departments during trials and scale‑ups.
  • Maintain a clean, organized R&D test kitchen and workstations; order supplies as needed.
  • Address food quality questions or concerns and elevate to management when necessary.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Assist with R&D paperwork, compliance tracking, and internal documentation management.
  • Support internal and external audits as needed.
  • Perform other R&D‑related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in food science, food engineering, chemistry or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in label and regulatory affairs in the food industry. Previous experience of Asian frozen products preferred.
  • Bilingual in Mandarin Chinese and English (required).
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage complex data and documentation accurately.
  • Highly organized, dependable, and comfortable with repetitive and detailed work.
  • Basic understanding of food formulation, labeling, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic data analysis.
  • Ability to work cross‑functionally in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with food labeling, BOM management, or regulatory documentation, and familiarity with FDA/USDA regulations (preferred).
  • Experience working in food manufacturing or R&D environments (preferred).
  • Physical requirement including frequent lifting up to 25 lbs., occasional lifting up to 50 lbs., and infrequent lifting up to 100 lbs; for instances when employee is required to lift more than 50 lbs and 100 lbs they must work in teams of two or use the proper equipment and tools for the job/task lity to walk and stand for at least 2 hours or more at one time;

    exposure to loud noise, dust, chemicals, etc.
  • Pay: $25–$30 per hour.
Additional Information

All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines. Pay is between $100,000–$110,000/year plus performance bonus.
