This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment and enjoys owning software development across the full spacecraft lifecycle, from architecture and embedded development through testing and flight integration.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain spacecraft flight software architectures using frameworks such as FPrime or cFS.
  • Design and implement embedded software components, communication protocols, and hardware interfaces.
  • Develop drivers and low-level interfaces for FPGAs, GPIOs, and avionics hardware.
  • Manage memory architecture, boot loader functionality, and fail-safe recovery modes.
  • Support integration and testing activities on flatsats and flight hardware.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated test workflows.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with avionics, GNC, and systems teams.
  • Contribute to mission reliability, fault tolerance, and spacecraft autonomy initiatives.
Requirements
  • 5–10 years of spacecraft flight software or embedded systems experience.
  • Strong proficiency in C/C++, Python, and embedded Linux.
  • Experience with FPrime, cFS, or similar aerospace software frameworks.
  • Knowledge of hardware communication protocols (I2C, CAN, UART, RS485, etc.).
  • Experience interfacing with FPGAs and embedded hardware.
  • Hands‑on spacecraft integration and testing experience preferred.
  • Experience working in cleanroom/ESD-controlled environments.
Why Join?
  • Work on upcoming spacecraft missions for major government customers.
  • Opportunity to contribute to novel on-orbit technology demonstrations.
  • Highly hands‑on engineering culture with significant ownership.
  • Fast-moving startup environment with strong technical leadership.
