Department SummaryThe Department of Biological Sciences, one of four departments in the College of Science, has over 50 faculty, 175 graduate and 3,000 undergraduate students. Our faculty is a community of scholars dedicated to research and teaching in Ecology, Environmental Science, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Physiology, Neuroscience, Plant Biology, and Organismal environment interactions. We offer Bachelor's degrees in Biology, Biochemistry, Ecology, Medical Laboratory Science, and Forensic Science, and Master's and PhDs in Biology, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and Environmental Science.
Position OverviewThe Department of Biological Sciences seeks qualified individuals for its Adjunct Instructor pool for the Fall 2026, Spring 2027, and Summer 2027 semesters. Adjunct Instructors plan classes, implement learning objectives, evaluate student learning outcomes, and hold regular office hours in accordance with college, departmental, and division responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications- Master's degree with 18 advanced/graduate hours in an area of Biological Sciences relevant to the course assignment(s).
- Demonstrated college teaching experience required.
- Requirements may differ for specialty course(s).
- Ph.D. in the area of Biological Sciences relevant to the course assignment(s) and three years of demonstrated college teaching experience.
- Requirements may differ for specialty course(s).
