Job Description

Title: Room Attendant

Division: Hotel - Rooms

Department: Housekeeping

Reports to: Assistant Executive Housekeeper

Starting Wage: $10.00

Job summary

To clean and stock guest rooms to ensure The Overton Hotel and Conference Center’s high standards of cleanliness.

The incumbent is authorized to take reasonable action necessary to carry out assigned duties and responsibilities, provided such

action is consistent with position guidelines as outlined below or though the exercise of sound, reasonable judgment and initiative

in the performance of job responsibilities.

Position guidelines include, but are not limited to, established company and department policies and procedures and all

supervisory directives.

Summary of essential job functions

1. Clean bathtubs, toilets, sinks, walls, mirrors, tiles, counters, and floor surfaces using cloths, mops, sponges, brushes, and any

cleaning agents by extending arms over head, bending and stooping

2. Strip and make beds, changing bed liners which may require lifting bedspreads

3. Dust all furniture, pictures, drawers, window ledges, and shelves thoroughly

4. Push and pull vacuum throughout entire room and empty trash

5. Replenish amenities, linens, and supplies in guest rooms

6. Responding in a timely manner to guest request requires for items such as an iron, safety instructions, assistance, direction,

and other information as requested

7. Turn in all items found in employee’s work area to the Hotel Lost and Found

Educational/Experience Requirements

1. Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and ability

2. Prefer some previous housekeeping experience

Abilities Required

1. Some understanding of the English Language

2. Ability to push and/or pull equipment up to 100 lbs

3. Ability to scrub and scour surfaces, extending arms over head to perform cleaning tasks, and work in confined spaces

4. Ability to follow instructions, directions, and meet deadlines, including the thorough cleaning of a minimum of 15 rooms

per day
