Wiz Security Engineer / Cloud Security Specialist
Location:
Remote (with occasional travel)
Job Type: Contract (6-12 months with extension)
Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Wiz Security Engineer to join our team and lead the implementation, optimization, and education efforts around our Wiz cloud security platform. The ideal candidate will serve as a subject matter expert, helping our infrastructure and security teams maximize the value of our Wiz deployment while strengthening our overall cloud security posture.
Key Responsibilities- Deploy, configure, and maintain Wiz across multi‑cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Optimize Wiz scanning policies, security frameworks, and integration workflows
- Manage Wiz connectors and ensure comprehensive cloud asset visibility
- Configure and maintain automated remediation workflows and security policies
- Analyze security findings and vulnerabilities identified by Wiz
- Prioritize risks based on actual exposure, exploitability, and business impact
- Investigate misconfigurations, compliance violations, and security gaps
- Develop and implement remediation strategies for critical security issues
- Create custom security rules and policies tailored to organizational needs
- Conduct training sessions for infrastructure, Dev Ops, and security teams
- Create documentation, runbooks, and best practice guides for Wiz usage
- Provide hands‑on guidance for teams learning to navigate and interpret Wiz findings
- Mentor team members on cloud security concepts and Wiz capabilities
- Work closely with Dev Ops, Cloud Ops, and Infrastructure teams to integrate security into CI/CD pipelines
- Collaborate with compliance teams to ensure regulatory requirements are met
- Partner with application teams to resolve security findings in cloud workloads
- Integrate Wiz with SIEM, ticketing systems, and other security tools
- Develop cloud security strategies leveraging Wiz capabilities
- Establish metrics and KPIs to measure security posture improvements
- Stay current with emerging cloud threats and Wiz platform updates
- Recommend improvements to cloud architecture based on security insights
- 2+ years of hands‑on experience with Wiz (or similar CNAP platforms like Prisma Cloud, Orca Security)
- Strong cloud platform knowledge
:
Deep understanding of AWS, Azure, and/or GCP - Cloud security expertise
: IAM, network security, encryption, secrets management, container security - Infrastructure as Code
:
Experience with Terraform, Cloud Formation, or similar tools - Container & Kubernetes security
:
Understanding of container vulnerabilities and K8s security best practices - Compliance frameworks
:
Knowledge of CIS benchmarks, NIST, SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI‑DSS, or HIPAA
- Vulnerability management and risk assessment methodologies
- Cloud architecture and security design patterns
- Incident response and security remediation workflows
- API integrations and automation scripting (Python, Power Shell, Bash)
- Security scanning tools and SIEM platforms
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities
- Strong teaching and mentoring capabilities
- Ability to translate technical findings into business risk language
- Collaborative mindset with cross‑functional teams
- Problem‑solving orientation with attention to detail
- Wiz Certified Professional or willingness to obtain certification
- Cloud security certifications: CCSP, AWS Security Specialty, Azure Security Engineer, GCP Professional Cloud Security Engineer
- General security certifications: CISSP, CISM, CEH, Security+
- Experience with Dev Sec Ops practices and security automation
- Background in penetration testing or offensive security
- Experience with security orchestration and response (SOAR) platforms
- Previous experience in customer‑facing or consulting roles
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field, OR
- Equivalent practical experience in cloud security and engineering roles
