Position Overview:
The Buyer plays a crucial role in the procurement process by processing requisitions and issuing purchase orders to ensure timely acquisition of goods and services. This position involves collecting and compiling documentation to maintain compliance with government contracting regulations. The Buyer will manage vendor relationships, fostering strong partnerships to support cost reduction strategies. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to align procurement activities with organizational goals.
Strong analytical skills are required to track, report, and evaluate supplier risks and performance, ensuring that procurement decisions are data-driven and aligned with the company's objectives.

Fully on site in Lynchburg, Virginia.
Your Day to Day as a Buyer:
- Process requisitions.
- Collect and compile required documentation for government contracting compliance.
- Issue purchase orders.
- Manage vendor relationships.
- Support cost reduction strategies.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Use analytical skills and past work experience in tracking, reporting, analyzing and evaluating supplier risks and supplier performance.
- Bachelor's degree.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience .
- Familiarity with Government Purchasing regulations FARS and DFARS.
- Superior written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Basic spreadsheet capability in Microsoft Excel basic capabilities along with Word and Power Point basic skills.
- Ability to clearly communicate with suppliers and in-house technical personnel.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active DOE "Q" Clearance.

The base salary range for this position in Virginia (US-VA) at the start of employment is expected to be between $65,000 and $103,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,' unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement.
