Job SummaryThe Student Success Center (SSC) seeks a peer tutor to conduct academic tutoring across various settings, including online, face‑to‑face, one‑on‑one, and group sessions. The role involves assisting with computer programs and tutorials and participating in tutor certification training.
Responsibilities- Conduct academic tutoring in various settings: online, face‑to‑face, one‑on‑one, and in groups.
- Assist with computer programs and tutorials as needed.
- Participate in tutor certification training as part of the position’s requirements.
- Must be a current enrolled MGA student.
- Must be enrolled in at least 6 semester hours per semester.
- Must have a GPA of 2.0 or greater.
- Strong commitment to public service.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively independently and as a team member.
Applicants for all Student Worker jobs are required to have completed a FAFSA for this academic year.
Preferred Qualifications- Academic tutoring experience is desired, but not essential.
- Current GPA of 3.00 or higher.
- Freshman courses include Elementary Statistics, Anatomy and Physiology, Calculus, Principles of Chemistry, Physics, and French.
- Sophomore and higher courses include Organic Chemistry, Intermediate Accounting, Business Statistics, Programming, Spanish, Nursing, World Literature, Biology, and Engineering.
- Can tutor additional subjects as needed where an A or B is listed on the transcript.
