Within the Private Markets division, the Valuation Services team is looking for a Senior Analyst to make an immediate impact on delivering valuation services and support to several Venture Capital/Private Equity clients across the US and APAC regions. The analyst will work on ASC 820 valuations for fair value reporting within a close‑knit team that values collaboration, problem‑solving, and continuous learning.
Responsibilitiesand Impact
- Perform portfolio valuations for VC/PE funds and business valuations of early‑stage venture‑backed companies with complex capital structure, adhering to all AICPA standards pertaining to Fair Value.
- Lead client engagements, including gathering and reviewing underlying source data, project management, communication around timelines and deliverables, and audit support.
- Set up valuations for new clients as part of the onboarding process and lead training sessions on how to use the platform; assist the Implementation team with interpretation of financial and legal documents used in onboarding.
- Work with the Client Engagement and Support teams to respond to client requests and resolve inquiries.
- Contribute to the design and enhancement of the proprietary models and software platforms used to perform valuations.
Anticipated base salary range: $68,000 to $110,000. Final base salary will be based on geographic location, experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan and S&P Global benefits.
BasicRequired Qualifications
- 3+ years of relevant work experience, specifically involving ASC 820.
- Strong understanding of private markets valuation methodologies, including Black‑Scholes OPM, with the ability to perform valuations for VC/PE portfolios and early‑stage companies with complex capital structures.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills combined with strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with extreme attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently under strict deadlines in a collaborative team setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post‑graduate degree in Accounting or Finance.
- CPA, CFA, or another relevant designation.
- Familiarity with SaaS business models.
