Job SummarySPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. We are opening a new campus facility where two of our businesses (Marley and Ingenia Technologies) will evolve and grow together at a single site. As the Plant Manager for Marley products, you will be responsible for achieving operational performance of the Marley product line on the campus.
As a leader within this operation, you will implement work strategies and motivate a newly established workforce in an evolving, high-growth environment. This position is both strategic and tactical in nature and will drive capacity optimization and expansion of the Marley business. This is a hands-on position that will ultimately support ~100 employees at a single site.
- Learn Marley s highly automated design, engineering and manufacturing system, and lead efforts to institutionalize key processes and capabilities to support proactive capacity growth at the facility in alignment with planned market expansion.
- Support the site s development from greenfield development through production launch as part of the project team and then transition to leading daily operational performance with a continuous improvement culture.
- Maintain production planning, material handling, quality, throughput, operations and assembly, and EHS around critical performance metrics.
- Maintain Value Stream Maps and Continuous Improvement Roadmaps and information for each manufacturing cell to ensure balance across manufacturing cells when driving capacity expansion.
- Lead and mentor key leaders to improve overall performance and capacity output of the business.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment for all employees in manufacturing locations, driving a safety culture.
- Lead the plant with Lean principles:
Strategic Planning, Annual Planning, Process Mapping, Standard Work, OEE, CI, Kaizen, etc. - Manage the daily operations of the Marley section of the plant.
- Prepare and review SPX production performance reports.
- Drive efficiencies and optimization by analyzing opportunities.
- Develop and empower team members through coaching, counseling and inspiring them to perform to world-class standards within a CI culture.
- Ensure quality assurance, proper controls and effective use of best practices to drive an integrated approach throughout the business.
- Provide leadership for a safety-first culture; deliver improvement in key safety metrics including reduction in first fids, hazard identification and related corrective actions.
- Enhance processes to achieve 95%+ on-time delivery in full to promise-dates for Marley product.
- Achieve year-over-year increases in overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) and labor efficiency.
- Maintain and optimize machinery and equipment with regular maintenance programs.
- Ensure employee engagement through leadership and communication.
- Build operations functional capability to support growth and continuous improvement.
- Demonstrate agility to adapt to rapidly changing growth forecasts.
- Be accountable for plant-level financial performance, including operating expense control, labor efficiency, capital expenditures, and contribution to overall business profitability.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, safety, and regulatory requirements, maintaining documentation, audits, and corrective actions.
