Accounting Clerk

Our client is an organization in the greater Madison area looking to add a Billing & Accounting Specialist. This client is looking for someone with strong attention to detail, billing and collections experience, and the ability to support a collaborative accounting team environment.

The Billing & Accounting Specialist will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

• Manage billing processes and ensure accurate and timely invoicing
• Support accounts receivable functions including payment application, account reconciliation, and collections follow-up
• Communicate with customers regarding billing questions, outstanding balances, and payment status updates
• Assist with accounts payable support and provide crossover coverage as needed
• Maintain accurate financial records and support documentation within accounting systems
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and improve accounting processes and efficiencies

The Billing & Accounting Specialist will possess the following:

• Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business, or related field preferred
• 3+ years of billing, accounts receivable, collections, or general accounting experience required
• Experience with accounts payable support is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to communicate professionally with customers and internal teams
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software systems
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
