Contract – 12 months – DOE compensation
This position will assist in the development of data warehouse / business intelligence initiatives. This position will also be responsible for constructing extract, transformation, and load (ETL) mappings/logic of data processing. Other duties of this position include preparing technical specification documents, development, testing, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of BI solutions. This individual will generally work as a technical developer for the Business Intelligence Team.
This position would require skills in data analysis on the existing data elements from the source in order to determine their role and relationship in the data warehouse environments. Works with moderate supervision with some latitude for independent judgment. Typically requires 6 to 9 years experience or equivalent education.
- Knowledge of and experience with programming/scripting languages and client query tools: SQL, PL/SQL (Procedural Language/Structured Query Language), Java, Power Shell
- Knowledge of ETL tools and applications such as Business Objects Data Services (BODS), Informatica and Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
- Knowledge and experience using proper testing techniques
- Effective verbal communication skills and writing techniques
- Good understanding of project management and project methodologies
- Knowledge and experience of deploying containers on a Kubernetes management source
- Identifying and prioritizing subject areas to be included in the Data Warehouse
- Assist in the development of a scalable architecture to serve as the Warehouse's technical and application foundation
- Extracting, cleansing, aggregating, transforming, and validating the data to ensure quality standards
- Analyzing and tracing through ETL code base to troubleshoot
- Implementing and optimizing ETL processes
- Establishing processes for maintaining, enhancing, and ensuring the ongoing success and applicability of the Warehouse
