ME15 9FL

Vacancy Overview

Are you looking for an opportunity to gain valuable workplace experience, develop new skills, and build a long‑term career in healthcare administration?

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our welcoming and highly respected practice team as an Apprentice Receptionist.

The Mote Medical Practice has been at the heart of the South Maidstone community for over 40 years. In April 2025, we expanded our services by welcoming Staplehurst Health Centre as our branch surgery. Together, our team of Partners, Salaried GPs, nurses, receptionists and managers provide high-quality care to approximately 17,000 patients. We are proud to be a well‑organised, high‑performing practice with a Good CQC rating, excellent patient services, and a strong reputation for supporting and developing our staff.

About

the Role

As an Apprentice Receptionist, you will be one of the first points of contact for our patients, helping to ensure they receive a professional, friendly and efficient service. Your duties will include:

  • Answering and directing telephone calls
  • Booking and managing appointments
  • Welcoming patients and checking them in for appointments
  • Processing patient requests
  • Supporting a variety of administrative tasks
  • Working closely with clinicians and colleagues across the practice

This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Friendly, approachable and professional
  • Confident communicating with people from all backgrounds
  • Organised and able to prioritise workloads
  • Comfortable multitasking in a busy environment
  • Eager to learn and develop new skills

Previous experience is not essential – a positive attitude, willingness to learn and excellent customer service skills are what matter most.

What We Offer

We provide:

  • Full‑time position (37.5 hours per week)
  • Fixed‑term contract for the duration of the apprenticeship programme
  • Structured training and ongoing support throughout your apprenticeship
  • A friendly and supportive working environment
  • 4 weeks annual leave
  • Additional birthday leave
  • Increased annual leave awards linked to length of service
  • Apprenticeship salary, with a competitive salary upon successful completion of the programme
  • Most importantly, we are committed to developing our apprentices and investing in their future. There is a strong likelihood of a permanent Receptionist position being available upon successful completion of the apprenticeship.
