Salary: $53,000/year

POSITION OBJECTIVE: The Missing Children Specialist coordinates and supports dependency case management efforts related to missing children to ensure active engagement, diligent search efforts, and timely documentation to support the safe recovery of missing youth. This position implements the organization's Missing Children Program Manual and works under the guidance of the Special Projects Supervisor to support program goals, compliance standards, and continuous quality improvement efforts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Serve as the Missing Child point of contact for Family Partnerships of Central Florida and maintain regular contact with all case management agencies, DCF, NCMEC, local law enforcement, and others that will help in the location efforts of missing children.

• Provide guidance and support to case management agencies regarding Missing Children Requirements and Services to ensure all missing youth are found in an expeditious manner support of successful outcomes, with the appropriate documentation in accordance with Florida Statutes, Florida Administrative Code, and DCF CFOP.

• Maintain tracking and ensure missing child episodes are documented accurately, completely, and timely in the required data system.

• Oversee Missing Children efforts to locate and track in accordance with DCF and FPOCF Operating Procedures.

• Complete reviews on all missing children's cases weekly and document the review in FSFN timely.

• Review data, monitor compliance, and report progress weekly/monthly to DCF and the FPOCF Case Management and Permanency Administrator for all missing youth.

• Provide training and technical assistance to operation staff and case management staff.

• Maintains and updates the Missing Children Program Manual as necessary.

• Escalate high-risk, complex, or prolonged missing child cases to the Special Projects Supervisor for guidance, direction, and additional coordination as needed.

• Provide training and ongoing technical assistance to operational and case management staff in coordination with and under the direction of the Special Projects Supervisor.

• Participate in FPOCF's Quality Assurance and Improvement activities deployed throughout the organization to include contracted providers including technical assistance, training, and assistance in policy development as needed.

• Assists in the collection, analysis, and reporting of program data for Missing Children

• Participates in creation and annual reviews of Unit Policy and Procedure Manuals to ensure all policy and procedures reflect current state, federal and system of care requirements.

• Participates in the agency strategic plan & quality improvement processes.

• Ability to safely & successfully perform essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, & other federal, state, & local standards, including meeting qualitative & quantitative productivity standards.

• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with ADA, FMLA & other federal, state, & local standards

• Ability to comply with all personnel policies & procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor's degree and 1 year experience in child welfare services.
  • Experience in working with missing youth.
  • Florida Child Protection Certification
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
PREFERRED:
  • Experience in Data Analysis
  • Dependency Case Management experience
